Having Black Tattoo's Re-Colored.?

Q: I have 3 Tattoo's. One is a Latin phrase on my wrist. Two are ring tattoos. One is of my husbands name on my left ring finger. (2nd marriage - been married 10 years.) I would still never regret having his name tattooed on me...because of what he has done for me and my 4 kids. Plus we also have a son together too. The other ring tattoo is on my right ring finger which is my 5 kid’s initials. They are done in black ink, and I like it when they are black and not start getting that greenish black color...Can/should I have them re-colored and does it affect the look of the Tattoo??? Atypically does black ink usually get that greenish black look to it? I plan on one more tattoo which will be the celestial sun & moon with 5 stars representing each of my children….Can’t wait!....Just have to decide where I am going to put that one….half temped to do it on my right outer calf. I don’t wear tank tops or I would consider putting it on my shoulder.

A: Two out three of my tattoos are black, I have had one for at least 6 years now and there has been no greenish look to it...I had it touched up as there was some yellow in there that needed to touch up too...it turned out really well and has since really brought out the black outline of the tattoo...I will warn you depending on the size, the touch up hurts more than the initial work. But I think that it's a good way to maintain the clarity of the tattoo...I also think that as long as the person doing your work is good you shouldn't really get that green look at all.

I'm going to the tattoo parlor tomorrow and I need some advice.?

Q: I know I'm getting a tattoo done on my right side, on my ribs. This isn't my first tattoo, by the way. I either want: a celestial sun, with a face, a celestial sun with a moon (either inside the sun or outside) with faces, and some stars, or a celestial moon with face and stars. I want it to be color. But, I can't find any designs I like online. How do I explain to the tattoo designer what I want? If he doesn't get it right I can't help but feel bad if s/he messes up and I want him/her to try again. What if s/he can't get it right? What do I do? Also, which tattoo idea sounds best? By "trying again," I meant the stencil drawing. I do know what I want done. I never said I was getting the tattoo done tomorrow, I said I was going to the parlor. And I can't draw.

A: find pictures of what you like the best..and really narrow it down to what you like the best. give him/her the pictures and let them come up with something. if they are a good artist all should be ok. and if you don't like it...tell them what they should add or take away. i was so scared about this part myself. when i went i gave him two different pictures and he came up with something no1 could have ever imagined..and it's something no1 else has. what you want is popular...so let them help you out to make it your own and his/her own. i got a dragon and i was searching for months for something i really liked. you can't know what you are going to actually get unless you let them take over...if they are good they will know what to do. for me it was so frustrating because night after night i would search and find nothing. then i found a couple of pics i wanted it to be like...then i let him take over...its the best thing i could've done with it. i would've still been here searching for the best picture. also if you can't find pictures..list things you want done...if your tattoo artist is good he/she won't get annoyed. its a tattoo its something that should be perfect before it's put on your body...they understand...they get people who are undecided all the time. just make sure they do what you want before you get it. explain to them you aren't sure but you want this and this and this and show them pics too. all should go ok. good luck

Any ideas for a celestial ankle tattoo?

Q: I'm getting another Tattoo soon, like an ankle bracelet, and I want one with stars and such (celestial) Because my mom and I are getting them together and our saying is "I love you to the moon and back" and I want it to mean something along those lines. Your opinion for my celestial tattoo re-work idea?

Q: I have black crescent moon with black star tattoo on upper middle of my back when I was 17... I regret it a little bit because I was young and made an implusive decision. When I turned 18 i got a simple black swirled cancer sign on my ankle. I think it's really plain and also regretted it! Now I am 20 and I am less implusive than before. I no longer allow my friends to pressure me into having another dumb tattoo. I really want to fix that cancer sign tattoo because it's way too plain and simple. A: hmm..you could add your constellation behind the cancer symbol. or add it to your moon and your back. like use the star you already have as one of the stars in the constellation. i like your ideas of adding highlights. maybe have the black touched up, see if that helps any..and of course talk to your artist. they're full of ideas on how to improve your ink!

What does my friend's tattoo mean?

Q: My friend has a tattoo of something that looks like the Star of David with a circle bordering it. The entire image is on fire. What is this? Does it have something to do with the celestial crown or something? Most importantly, should I be worried and talk to my friend? He won't tell me what it means.

A: Everybody else has beaten me to it; it's probably a pentacle, which is the universal symbol of Paganism. If it's upside down, it's generally considered to be a sign of the Devil. So, y'know, if you're bothered by that sort of thing, you might want to talk to him.
